Thai Actors Get Acquainted with Cambodian Fanbase

PHNOM PENH: Cambodia’s Ch5 joined forces with Thailand’s highest-rated Ch7 to bring 27 of the latest Thai TV series and movies to Cambodia. To celebrate, four of Thailand’s biggest stars hosted a meet & greet for their Cambodian fans, who were full of excitement to see their idols.

Thisa Varitthisa Limthammahisorn, Usamanee Waitayanon, Jinn Jinna, and “Mike” Pattaradet Sa-nguankwamdee sat down for an interview to discuss their careers and answer questions. This was Jinn Jinna’s first time meeting his Cambodian fans, some of whom greeted him at the airport. He was surprised and touched by the outpouring of love he received. “Mike” Pattaradet Sa-nguankwamdee is familiar with his Cambodian fanbase and is grateful for their support. Also a popular singer, he performed some of his greatest hits and the crowd was excited to sing along.

The event was also attended by Dr. Supachai Verapuchong, owner and founder of TV5 Cambodia for nearly 30 years. He lauded the good relationship between Thailand and Cambodia that allows for such rich cultural exchanges.

Cherdkiat Atthakor, Ambassador of Thailand to Cambodia, reiterated the sentiment saying, “I wish all success to the entertainment communities between both nations since we have always enjoyed great cooperation, especially in the world of entertainment. Each year, it gains more success and popularity.”

Later in the afternoon, fans were treated to a meet and greet where they got to take photos and get autographs from some of their favorite celebrities.
